COLUMBUS, Ind. —The Columbus Area Visitors Center will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Thursday, October 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at 506 Fifth Street, in Columbus.
The evening begins with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by a program and plaque unveiling at 5:30 p.m. on the west steps. The reception then continues at around 6:15 and concludes at 7 p.m.
The program will be held in the same spot where Xenia Miller dedicated the Visitors Center building three decades ago, marking a meaningful full-circle moment for the community. Guests will enjoy light refreshments and have the opportunity to view historic video footage from the original 1995 dedication ceremony.
“For 30 years, this building has been a place of welcome, where visitors discover what makes Columbus such a special community,” said Misty Weisensteiner, Executive Director of the Columbus Area Visitors Center. “This anniversary is a chance to celebrate our history and also acknowledge the people and partnerships that have made Columbus a destination known around the world.”
The Columbus Area Visitors Center’s 30th anniversary party is free and open to the public.
