GREENWOOD, Ind.—Greenwood Police Department(GPD) arrested a suspect in connection to a series of apartment fires near the Greenwood Park Mall on Thursday, May 29.
The Greenwood Fire Department (GFD) responded to three seperate apartment fires started in quick succession within the same hour and within one mile of eachother. The complexes affected were 890 Parliament Place of Westminster Apartments, 923 Kings Mill Rd. of The Polo Run Apartments, and 780 Woodale Terrace of Auburn Place Apartments.
Greenwood Police suspected arson due to the nature and timeline of the fires, as well as proximity to each other.
Video camera footage was recovered and the suspect, 50 year old Ronnie B. Brasher, was located and arrested at the Greenwood Public Library. Brasher has a last known address of Carmel Indiana but is believed to be homeless at this time.
Brasher was taken to the Johnson County Jail and is being initially arrested on three counts of Level 4 Arson.
