NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested a woman last week after she was found with drugs at a local gas station.
Officers responded to a lockout call at Casey’s General Store on Highway 7 early Wednesday morning, May 7, where a woman reported that her dog had locked her out of the car.
Police noted suspicious behavior and said they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After unlocking the car, NVPD allegedly uncovered multiple illegal substances, including methamphetamine, marijuana, hallucinogens, unprescribed pills, and drug-related items.
Heather LaMaster, 50, of North Vernon, was taken into custody and transported to the Jennings County Jail. She has been charged with:
- Dealing in prescription drugs
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Maintaining a common nuisance
