SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – Snowy winter weather returned Sunday to south-central Indiana. The National Weather Service (NWS) says an arctic air mass will settle over the region through the rest of the week. Daily highs will struggle to get out of the teens with nightly lows in the single digits to near zero and overnight wind chill values dropping into the zero to -10 degree range.
Due to the light snow and frigid wind chill temperatures, NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Sunday for most of the state including Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Shelby, Decatur, and Brown Counties.
The weather will affect the normal hours for many schools, as at least one school district in south-central Indiana is closed and several have delayed starting times on Monday.
