NORTH VERNON, Ind. – “Annie the Musical” will make it an extra special Hallmark Christmas weekend in North Vernon this year. In partnership with North Vernon’s annual Christmas in the City celebration, the Park Theatre Civic Centre will present Annie on Dec. 4, 6, 7, and 8.
Tickets are selling fast. There are seats left only for the 6:30 p.m. performance on Wednesday, Dec. 4. All other shows are sold out.
The cast of stage veterans and newcomers is filled with talent from North Vernon and other Southern Indiana communities.
Lilly Charlton will portray the title character, Annie Bennett, a spunky, streetwise 11-year-old orphan. Others in the cast include Ruby Blankenbecker, Andrew Rodriguez, Sarah Dillon, Kristina Charlton, Shawn Charlton, Heather Howard, Paul Keller, Stephen Blankenbecker, Zoey Dillon, Annie Keller, Gabby Hall, Stella Stevens, Tally Bright, and many orphans and ensemble members. The director is Dave George.
North Vernon comes alive with the true spirit of Christmas during the first weekend in December with the Park Theatre and the entire downtown beautifully decorated for the season.
“Annie the Musical” is set in New York City at Christmastime in the 1930s. Annie escapes her orphanage, hoping that her parents will return to take her home. She finds a home with a billionaire, who does not know anything about Christmas or the human spirit but finds it through Annie.
