NORTH VERNON, Ind. — The annual St. Mary’s Community Festival in North Vernon will look slightly different this year.
Coordinators announced that the event will be on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, with no Sunday hours. The once three-day event will now be two days.
The change is due to rising food costs, lower attendance for carnival rides on Sunday, and the need for more volunteers. However, they will open earlier on Saturday for more time to experience the carnival rides that day. There will still be plenty of live music, drawings, prizes, and good food.
The festival, as usual, will be on the St. Mary’s campus on the corner of Washington and Clay Streets.
