WHITELAND, Ind. – The Whiteland Police Department closed a stretch of Whiteland Road Tuesday when a sinkhole was discovered.
According to a post by the Whiteland Police Department on X, following significant rain and flooding, a three-foot wide by five-foot deep sinkhole opened along Whiteland Road near Brewer Ditch and Whiteland Community High School. It occupies part of the sidewalk and roadway.
Whiteland Road was shut down at US 31 and Center Street, with no through traffic permitted. Motorists were asked to use Tracy Road.
