EDINBURGH, Ind. – Edinburgh Fire and Rescue and the Edinburgh Police Department were dispatched to a fire at Group Metal Recycling, 111 N. Holland St., on Friday, just after 5:30 p.m. Firefighters found the building fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
Multiple agencies were then called to help put out the large blaze at the warehouse. It took about two hours to extinguish the fire, mostly because there were propane tanks and oil throughout the structure.
No one was inside the building when the blaze broke out.
Edinburgh Fire officials say there were no injuries and the warehouse is considered a total loss.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office is assisting the Edinburgh Fire and Police departments with the ongoing investigation as to the cause of the blaze.
Assisting fire agencies were those from Columbus, Franklin, German Township, Amity, and Nineveh.
