SEYMOUR, Ind. – Detectives from the Indiana State Police (ISP)-Versailles Post arrested a 21-year-old Seymour man on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of False Government Identification last Wednesday following a search warrant at his residence.
The inquiry began in July when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children forwarded a cyber tip to ISP. Investigators determined that an individual at a residence on Peak Avenue, in Seymour, was in possession of child pornography. They then identified a potential suspect as Samuel Diego-Nicolas, age 21.
ISP Troopers and detectives, with the assistance of the Seymour Police Department, served a search warrant at the Seymour residence on Wednesday. Several false government identification cards were supposedly found. Diego-Nicolas was not initially located at the home but was soon found at a second address in Seymour Additional evidence of the crime of possession of child pornography was allegedly located when he was detained by detectives.
Diego-Nicolas was arrested and taken to Jackson County Jail on a level 4 felony charge of Possession of Child Pornography and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of False Government Identification.
