COLUMBUS, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Force Construction Company, Inc. is scheduled to conduct nightly lane closures beginning this week along I-65 to complete additional work between the Columbus and Walesboro exits in Bartholomew County.
Beginning on or after Friday, September 8, northbound I-65 will be reduced to one lane between mile markers 64 and 68. The nightly lane closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while work is in progress.
INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use caution, and drive distraction-free in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
The overnight lane closures from mile markers 64 to 68 are currently scheduled as follows:
- Sept. 8 – 30 (weather permitting): I-65 reduced to one lane for diamond grinding operations
- Oct. 2 – 15 (weather permitting): I-65 reduced to one lane for installation of permanent pavement markings, shoulder corrugations, and raised pavement markers
