NORTH VERNON, Ind. – After a 30-year run, the Boyd Pumpkin Display, famous in the Zenas area of Jennings County, has come to an end.
It had been faithfully organized by the Boyd family and their volunteers for almost three decades. They would spend hours intricately carving jack-o-lanterns to display in October for the community to enjoy.
However, Wesley Boyd, the owner of the farm where the event takes place, is retiring and thus he and his wife, Melody, will no longer be hosting the display at their home. They announced the news on their “Boyd Pumpkin Display” Facebook page on September 7.
However, the Boyds and their team of master carvers are not quite ready to give up the whole tradition and have told people to stay tuned to their Facebook page for upcoming announcements about where fans can see their pumpkin art at other local fall events.
