INDIANAPOLIS – State Senator Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg) is resigning as of September 26. Perfect represents Senate District 43, which includes Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott, and Switzerland counties, plus portions of Jennings County.
“I have had the honor to serve as senator of District 43 for nearly nine years and have made the difficult decision to resign my position,” said Sen. Perfect. “It is a challenge to balance public service with business, personal, and family obligations, as each of those responsibilities has grown. It is a disservice to the people of my district when I cannot give the Indiana Senate the focus it requires.”
Perfect serves as chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce and Technology and ranking member of the Senate Committee on Utilities. He is also on the Senate Committees on Agriculture, Natural Resources, Pensions, and Labor. He tackled topics like data security, administrative rulemaking, and career and technical education during his tenure.
The Indiana State Senator is the president and CEO of Perfect North Slopes, which he has operated for the last 42 years.
“I have enjoyed my time in public service, met so many good people, and learned so much. It has been a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. Again, thank you to everyone for the privilege of serving the people of Indiana.”
