FRANKLIN, Ind. – A Franklin elementary school teacher has been named a finalist for a national teaching award.
Kristi Judson, who teaches first grade at Northwood Elementary School, was tabbed by Teachers of Tomorrow for the honor. She is among nine educators vying for the award given out on September 1. The person with the most votes is named Teacher of the Year.
The accolade recognizes teachers who display hard work and passion in educating students. Judson received $500 and a six-month professional development membership to Oviedo, Florida-based education consultant SimpleK12 for reaching the finalist stage. The national winner of Teacher of the Year will get a $5,000 prize.
