SEYMOUR, Ind. – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of South Central Indiana is presenting a Family-to-Family course in Seymour on Mondays, from September 18 through November 6. The eight weeks of classes are every Monday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The Learning Center, 323 Dupont Dr., in Seymour.
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, eight-session education program for family, friends, and significant others of adults with mental health conditions. The NAMI classes provide information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. Other topics covered include communication, problem-solving, treatment, and recovery.
The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being. The program is taught by trained family members with a loved one who has a mental health condition. NAMI Family-to-Family is an evidence-based program (EB).
