COLUMBUS, Ind. – An investigation by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) and Intelligence Led Policing Unit led to the arrest of a Columbus man on a host of charges last Wednesday.
Leonard Marshall, 53, had been under surveillance after he was identified by law enforcement as a suspected distributor of both crack cocaine and methamphetamine. Marshall allegedly committed a traffic violation while under surveillance and was pulled over and searched. Law enforcement supposedly found about 97 grams of meth and over 3.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Marshall was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on the preliminary felony charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of meth, and possession of cocaine. Additional charges are possible.
JNET, a combined unit of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office is proactively targeting the manufacturing and abuse of dangerous drugs in Columbus and Bartholomew County.
