NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) released information Tuesday on the arrest of two men on drug charges last week.
After seeing an SUV cross the centerline several times, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, at around 3:45 a.m. on April 17, at the intersection of U.S. 50 and State Road 7, in North Vernon.
The officer became suspicious of criminal activity and deployed his K9 partner Zobi, who showed a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was conducted and JCSO allegedly located a methamphetamine pipe with residue.
The driver, Jonathon Grunden, 30, of North Vernon, was placed under arrest for possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia.
The passenger, Dylan Lark, 31, of North Vernon, supposedly told the deputy that he had tucked illegal narcotics into his boxers. Dylan Lark was booked for possession of a narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia.
The illegal narcotics were later field tested and identified as Heroin/Fentanyl. They had a packaged weight of four grams.
