SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) investigated a Tuesday report of a shot being fired, with detectives eventually concluding that it was unintentional.
Officers responded to a house in the 800 block of West McDonald Street at around 4:20 p.m. No one was home when the shot was fired and no injuries were reported, according to SPD’s Lt. C.J. Foster. Police determined that the shot came from a neighboring residence.
Investigators obtained a search warrant to process the home. They ultimately found that the shot was not fired on purpose and may have been the result of a medical issue. The report will be forwarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor.
