COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two Seymour teenagers were taken into custody for an armed robbery allegedly committed late last month.
The Seymour Police Department (SPD) responded to the 600 block of South Vine Street on February 22, per SPD’s Lt. C.J. Foster. When law enforcement arrived, the victims said that Hunter Coomer, 19, held them at gunpoint and took their handgun. Coomer’s girlfriend, Max Caudill, 19, was with him during the robbery, according to police.
Investigators learned the robbery may have been drug-related and arrest warrants were issued for the pair after SPD was unable to locate them. Coomer was wanted for armed robbery, intimidation, pointing a firearm, and theft. Caudill was wanted for armed robbery and theft.
The suspects were located last Saturday by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at a store in Scottsburg and taken to Scott County Jail due to the outstanding warrants. After a search warrant was obtained, investigators searched their car for the weapon that Coomer supposedly used during the robbery and the gun that Coomer took from the victim. Neither was found. They did allegedly find marijuana plus a hand reportedly stolen in Jackson County.
Coomer and Caudill are awaiting extradition to Jackson County. Additional charges are possible.
