COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Bartholomew County man was taken into custody Tuesday morning following a child molesting investigation by detectives with the Columbus Police Department (CPD).
The investigation began when CPD says it was informed that a girl under the age of 14 told a family member that she had been sexually assaulted earlier this year. An arrest warrant was issued for Trent W. McBride, 29, of Columbus, and he was arrested and transported to Bartholomew County Jail.
McBride faces a preliminary charge of child molesting, a level 1 felony. He is incarcerated on a $150,000 bond.
