NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Park Theatre Civic Centre’s annual Mike Whitehead Granville Johnson Music Festival will be held on Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m., in North Vernon. Tickets are available for $10.
The festival has been renamed in honor of the late Mike Whitehead who lost his battle with cancer last March at the age of 67.
“All Park Theatre Bluegrass Hall of Fame members will perform as the life and legacy of Mike Whitehead are honored,” said Park Theatre Board President Patti Young.
Whitehead helped restore the theatre and was an original charter member, plus he organized the first bluegrass festival.
Tickets are available at the box office on Madison Avenue from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Cash or check is accepted. Call 812-346-0330 to check availability.
