NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office early Sunday morning initiated a traffic stop on a car after the driver committed multiple moving violations.
When speaking with the operator, John Meisberger II, of Butlerville, the deputy became suspicious of illegal activity and requested that the North Vernon Police Department and its K-9 Zobi assist at the scene.
During a free-air sniff of the vehicle, K-9 Zobi alerted to the odor of illegal substances. After a probable cause search, officers found 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of heroin, and other items associated with the distribution of meth.
Meisberger was arrested, jailed, and preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of meth (5 to 10 grams), possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of marijuana.
