COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Regional Health (CRH) has recently received Primary Stroke Certification from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
Healthcare organizations become certified by demonstrating compliance with national standards. Primary Stroke Certification is awarded every three years.
By being recognized as a Primary Stroke Center, CRH not only provides standard stroke care but also uses clot-busting medication to provide the best possible results.
To obtain the certification, the Stroke Team underwent onsite reviews, observations, and interviews. An ACHC surveyor evaluated CRH compliance with the certification standards including stroke program management, delivering/facilitating clinical care, and performance measures.
“By obtaining this certification, we are committed to providing excellent stroke care and improving outcomes for all stroke patients,” said Holly Boas, MSN, RN, Stroke Coordinator for CRH.
