GREENWOOD, Ind. – No one was injured as several shots were fired outside Greenwood Park Mall late Friday afternoon. The mall was put on lockdown. It was the second shooting at the shopping center in five months.
The Greenwood Police Department, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies responded. Authorities say that no shots were fired inside the mall. The incident took place outside near the food court entrance and Dick’s Sporting Goods as individuals in a group of people allegedly began shooting at one another. Police believe the suspects then fled the mall.
The investigation is continuing. If you have any information on this latest shooting or if you witnessed the incident, you are asked to call Johnson County dispatch, at 317-346-6336.
It was just earlier this week that the Greenwood Police Department and the FBI held a media conference updating information they had from the July mass shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall that claimed the lives of three victims plus the shooter.
