COLUMBUS, Ind. – Over the last four to five weeks, Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, public information officer for the Indiana State Police (ISP), has been working with the students at Columbus Signature Academy (CSA)-Lincoln Campus on their “Trooper Teddy” project.
The program had students pick out stuffed animals and write stories to go with them. ISP Sgt. Wheeles returned to CSA-Lincoln on Monday and the students presented their finished projects to him.
Troopers will now be able to carry the toys in their police vehicles and then distribute them to small children involved in traumatic incidents.
