COLUMBUS, Ind. — Local private school teachers Vicki Murphy and Whitney King are recipients of the 2022 Reams Family Awards for Excellence in Teaching. The honor is administrated by Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.
Established in 2007 by former Columbus residents Fred and Karen Reams, the annual awards recognize outstanding educators in the private schools serving Bartholomew County and come with a cash stipend.
First-place award recipient Murphy ($5,000), a seventh and eighth-grade teacher at White Creek Lutheran, was nominated for her dedication and creativity.
King ($4,000) has been with ABC-Stewart Montessori School for three years and is praised as an essential part of the success of the school’s preschool program.
