INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has begun seeking nominations for the 2023 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence. It marks the 30th year the awards have been given to celebrate innovative projects with measurable environmental benefits.
IDEM and Governor Holcomb will present awards in seven categories: Energy Efficiency/Renewable Resources; Environmental Education/Outreach; Five Year Continuous Improvement; Land Use/Conservation: Greening the Government; Pollution Prevention; and, Recycling/Reuse.
Citizens, government agencies, businesses, organizations, and educational institutions may submit nominations. Nominated projects must have occurred in Indiana and been implemented in 2021 or 2022.
The deadline for nominations is March 6, 2023, and the awards will be presented in September. Nomination forms and instructions are available here.
