COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department’s annual Cheer Fund delivery day is this Saturday, December 17. Volunteers are needed in their trucks, vans, and cars to ensure all of the kids in Bartholomew County receive their gifts in time for Christmas
If you are interested in helping, all you have to do is show up at 2674 Verhulst St. in Columbus (see map below). Overhead doors open at 8 a.m. for volunteers passing out gifts.
“Line up early, we like to see who the first one is,” said Ben Noblitt of the Cheer Fund. He continued, “In the past, cars have been decorated, and people come in elf, Santa, and various Christmas outfits. It’s our favorite day of the year that we finally get to invite everyone in and see what we’re doing.”
