SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) on Thursday took into custody a Jackson County man and charged him with two counts of child molestation.
The investigation began on November 20 when SPD received information from the Round Lake Illinois Police Department regarding a sex offense that allegedly took place in Seymour.
Detectives interviewed a six-year-old female victim and an adult male suspect. A forensic interview with the victim was also conducted at the Child Advocacy Center, Susie’s Place, in Bloomington. The victim supposedly disclosed the suspect had sex with her on at least two occasions.
The suspect, Luis Armando Lopez-Calvo, 38, of Seymour, was arrested at his home on the two felony counts of child molestation and transported to the Jackson County Jail where he remains incarcerated.
