EDINBURGH, Ind.- An Edinburgh man is in custody after law enforcement says he allegedly shot and killed a man on Thanksgiving evening. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 15000 N. Bluff Road at around 6:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies found a male subject suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, per BCSO.
Responding personnel from German Township Fire Department and Columbus Regional Health (CRH) EMS administered medical aid, however, the man was later pronounced deceased at CRH.
The victim was 49-year-old Wayne E. McGeorge, Jr., according to Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting. An autopsy will be performed.
Damion Bryant, 20, of Edinburgh, was identified as the supposed shooter and was arrested. Bryant was interviewed by BCSO detectives and then remanded into jail on a preliminary charge of murder.
