INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday that the unemployment rates for Bartholomew and surrounding counties slightly increased for the month of October.
For Bartholomew County, the October rate was 2.4%, up from September’s 1.8%. The county reported 42,250 employed residents out of a 43,289-person labor force.
The Jennings County rate for October was 2.7%, compared to 2.1% the previous month. Johnson County’s October rate was 2.4%, up from September’s 1.8%. Jackson County recorded a 2.5% October unemployment rate, compared to 1.9% for September.
Indiana state officials at DWD announced on Friday that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for the month of October was 3.0%, a slight increase from September’s 2.8%.
