NORTH VERNON, Ind. — The City of North Vernon is conducting routine, controlled flushing of the distribution water system during overnight hours, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., from Monday, October 17, through Friday, October 28.
North Vernon Water Superintendent William Spencer says the flushing may cause some water discoloration. This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air and does not affect the safety of the water.
If you are experiencing water discoloration after crews have begun flushing your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by running all water faucets for a few minutes, Spencer advised.
