COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus Department of Public Works has announced that fall sweeping is set to begin on Monday, October 17. The fall loose leaf program will run until December 16.
Loose leaves are picked up curbside on your trash collection day. Leaves need to be curbside by 7 a.m.
Residents should avoid placing leaves in the street as they clog the storm drains when it rains, causing flooding.
Leaves will not be collected if they are in bags. If you choose to bag your yard waste material, you may bring it to the compost site located at 720 S. Mapleton St., next door to the Department of Public Works, and dump out your bags.
