COLUMBUS, Ind. –United Way of Bartholomew County is making its final preparations for “LIVE UNITED” week, September 6 through 9. A full week of activities is scheduled to bring awareness to childhood poverty and to give residents a way to help.
Nearly one in five local kids live in poverty. Their home situation may be insecure, or they don’t have all their basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter met.
The week begins on the steps of Columbus City Hall on Tuesday, September 6, when Mayor Jim Lienhoop declares it, “LIVE UNITED” week.
Other events include the United Way of Bartholomew County’s annual kick-off lunch on Thursday, September 8, at Amazing Joe’s. And, “LIVE UNITED” week concludes on Friday, September 9, with the non-profit’s annual Day of Service. Go here for more information on all of the week’s activities.
