COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) took a wanted man into custody after a foot pursuit on Saturday evening.
Officers observed Travis D. Stephens, 40, of Needham, in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue, at 5 p.m., and confirmed a Shelby County warrant for his arrest. When they approached him, he attempted to flee the area on foot.
The suspect ran into a nearby apartment and was apprehended a short time later in a fenced area behind the apartment. CPD allegedly recovered three small bags containing methamphetamine from his pants pockets.
Stephens was charged with possession of meth, resisting law enforcement, and the Shelby County warrant.
