INDIANAPOLIS —The results are in for the Indiana State Fair’s annual culinary competition amongst concessionaires for the “Taste of the Fair.” Announced Wednesday at an unveiling at the fairgrounds, the three top finishers are taking home a “Taste of the Fair, 2022 Food of the Fair” title and a cash prize.
The 2022 first place Taste of the Fair title and $2500 in prize money goes to Pickle Pizza, created by Swain’s Concessions LLC. The item features homemade dough with a dill ranch sauce topped with mozzarella cheese, plus dill seasoning and pickles.
Pretzel Nacho Bites, produced by Wilson Concessions, was awarded second place and gets $1,000. It consists of pretzel bites covered in nacho cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, and bacon bits.
Third place was claimed by Mexican Street Corn in a Cup, also created by Wilson Concessions, and received $500. It features roasted sweet corn, mayonnaise, hot sauce, cheese, and Mexican spices.
