COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management says the National Weather Service has declared a Flood Watch in effect until Friday at 8 a.m. for south-central Indiana, including the counties of Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, and Brown.
After Severe Thunderstorm Watches and Warnings were issued Thursday night and early Friday morning, some areas have received over two inches of rain. The impact of the heavy rains may result in the flooding of rivers, streams, creeks, and low-lying and flood-prone locations, as water could rise out of the banks.
Residents should continue to monitor local forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
