COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District is hosting an Earth Day event this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Columbus-Bartholomew Recycling Center, 720 S. Mapleton St.
Bartholomew County residents can bring two refrigerant-containing appliances, two gas grill propane tanks, and four personal vehicle tires, without rims, for free disposal. Businesses or out-of-county residents are not eligible.
You can also get one pick-up-sized scoop of mulch or compost loaded for free from 8 a.m. to noon. Document shredding is available from 9 to 11 a.m., in residential quantities only. A hot dog roast is planned from 11 to 1.
