COLUMBUS, Ind. – At the Columbus City Council meeting Tuesday evening, councilors approved a reduction in Columbus City Utilities’ charges for the monthly metered flow rate, monthly charge, meter charge, private hydrant, fire protection charges, automatic sprinkler system, wholesale rates, and system development charges.
The agency is able to make this reduction due to a change in the state code repealing a tax on those charges.
Columbus City Utilities director Roger Kelso says the reduction will “do nothing but benefit the user base in Columbus.”
