SEYMOUR, Ind. – Registration for the Jackson County United Way “Free Income Tax Assistance” (FITA) program begins on Tuesday, January 4. Households who make less than $66,000 are able to get their taxes done for free by IRS-certified tax preparers.
In 2021, FITA was able to help 528 clients receive $669,731 in federal refunds and $67,852 in state refunds. Mostly volunteer-driven, the program is in its 12th year serving Jackson County. You can register for help here.
The Jackson County United Way says more information about the intake process, location, and paperwork needed will be provided after registration.
