COLUMBUS, Ind. – It was a special evening on Monday at Columbus East High School as the life of Luke Poindexter was celebrated. The young man was murdered in Indianapolis in late October at the age of 22.
With his family looking on, Central Middle School and Northside Middle School played rivalry basketball games for a common cause: to honor the life of the East grad.
To date, over $10,000 has been raised for a scholarship fund for Poindexter’s recently born son.
The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation said, “It’s incredible what we can do when we work together.”
