COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded Wednesday to a two-vehicle crash involving several injuries at the intersection of East County Road 300S and South County Road 900E.
When deputies arrived, at around 4:45 p.m., they joined personnel from the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department who were aiding those injured.
One driver, Braydan Beckman, of Scipio, was transported by Lifeline to University of Louisville Hospital. The other driver, Chelsea Turner, of Westport, and two juveniles were taken by ambulance to Columbus Regional Health.
The incident is still under investigation, but initial analysis indicates that Beckman pulled into the intersection failing to yield the right of way as Turner was traveling on East C.R 300S.
“This is the third serious collision we have had in as many days in Bartholomew County,” said Major Chris Lane. “Stop signs are there for a reason and can prevent serious injury or death.”
