COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew Consolidated School Board (BCSC) met Monday and Superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts briefed the board on the latest COVID numbers. He said that in the first 12 days of the current semester, 94 students and 13 staff members had tested positive.
During the public-comment portion of the BCSC gathering, fourteen citizens spoke about the COVID-19 prevention mandatory mask policy that was voted in at the board’s last meeting two weeks ago. All fourteen speakers were against the policy.
In other business, the board presented Columbus North High School chemistry teacher Stacy Doub its Teacher of the Year award. She said, “I did not choose education, it chose me.” Doub thanked her students, saying they had taught her how to teach them.
