INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana’s unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.1% for July, much lower than the national rate of 5.4%, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD).
The monthly unemployment rate is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicator that reflects the number of unemployed people seeking employment within the prior four weeks as a percentage of the labor force.
Indiana’s labor force had a net decrease of 1,740 compared to June, a result of a decrease of 630 unemployed residents and a decrease of 1,110 employed residents.
The number of Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment stands at 3.35 million, and the state’s 63.2% labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.7%.
