COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting says the cause of a June death of a Bartholomew County Jail inmate was an accidental drug overdose.
Gregory Leonard, 47, of Clifford, was found unresponsive on June 6 and was transported to Columbus Regional Health where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Coroner’s office, Leonard died of a fentanyl overdose. Nolting announced that the autopsy was performed on June 8, and the results were forwarded to Indiana State Police on July 1.
