GREENWOOD, Ind. – The city of Greenwood is awarding $1.5 million in federal grants from the Community Development Block Grant Program and CARES Act.
The grants are designed to provide communities with resources to address a wide range of unique development needs including providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities for low and moderate-income citizens.
“We’re very proud of this program and want to help local organizations, businesses, and residents as much as we can,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers.
Bridges Alliance, Gleaners Mobile Food Bank, Ivy Tech Community College, Kids in Crisis, Northeast Park Skate Park, Our Lady of the Greenwood Church, Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church and School, The Social of Greenwood, United Way, and Westwood Elementary School each received a portion of the grant.
