GREENSBURG, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says that Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a near-drowning incident involving a young child on Wednesday night at Lake Santee.
Decatur County 911 received a call just before 9 p.m. that a two-year-old female child was missing from her home in the 800 block of Lake Santee Drive, in Greensburg.
EMS arrived and quickly located the unconscious child near the Lake Santee shore in approximately three feet of water. The child was airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and was said to be in critical condition.
DNR says the incident is still under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
