COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a local man for drugs after he tried to flee on foot during a traffic stop Thursday night. CPD pulled over a car near Ninth and Chestnut Streets at 9:50 p.m.
The driver, Travis Salsman, 43, of Columbus, exited the vehicle and began running. Officers pursued the suspect as he ran behind a nearby residence and jumped a fence. They apprehended him a short time later.
It was discovered that the man had a suspended driver’s license. Police conducted a search of the car and allegedly found marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside.
Salsman was booked into Bartholomew County Jail for resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
