COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management (BCEM) said that as of about noon on Tuesday, the Bartholomew County travel status had been upgraded from a “RED” Warning Level to an “ORANGE” Watch Level. Jackson, Jennings, and Brown Counties are also “Orange” while Johnson County is now “Yellow.”
Many roads within the city and county have been cleared at least once by crews. There are some outer county roads that have not been worked and might still be impassable. BCEM and law enforcement officials said crews continued to work throughout Tuesday and into Wednesday. You are still asked to use extreme caution when traveling.
A Watch Level still restricts traffic and means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a Watch Level travel advisory, only essential travel is recommended, such as to and from work or in emergency situations. If you must be out, allow extra time and reduce your speed.
