GREENWOOD, Ind. – Johnson County residents will be able to enjoy a fireworks display this year because of a local business which will host this year’s show for the community on Sunday, July 5, at 10 p.m.
“My family looks forward to celebrating America’s independence each year and fireworks are an important part of that. When the fireworks were cancelled, I couldn’t imagine our local families missing out on such a tradition. It would almost be like Christmas without Santa Claus,” said Tilson President and CEO, Brent Tilson.
He says that the central location will allow as many people as possible to watch the fireworks show from a socially-safe distance. The display will originate from the Swartz family property on the southeast corner of State Road 135 and Stones Crossing Road, near the Franciscan Health building.
Greenwood and area residents are encouraged to view the show from their homes and cars, and maintain social distancing of at least six feet if they watch from a place with other spectators.
