COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office has released the information from the autopsy of the man who perished in a truck/train accident on Wednesday. Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting states Brandon Hendershot died from blunt force trauma to the head.
The Columbus City Utitilies employee died after the dump truck he was driving collided with a train on Indianapolis Road, near US 31. Hendershot was pronounced dead at Columbus Regional Health after being transported there by ambulance.
Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop said in a statement, “He was beloved by his family and co-workers. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been a part of Brandon’s life.”
The crash is being investigated by the Columbus Police Department and Indiana State Police.
